I currently work with the Environmental Water team within the Water and River Murray Division of the South Australian Department for Environment and Water. This diverse role involves: > Preparation of annual environmental watering proposals, using multiple probability-based water resource availability scenarios and the ecological condition monitoring data for Pike and Katarapko floodplains. > Contribution to planning and prioritisation for South Australian River Murray multi-site environmental watering. > Active participation in the SA Floodplain Operations Advisory Group and SA Channel and Floodplain Scientific Advisory Group. > Community and Traditional Owner engagement to develop objectives for environmental watering. > Coordination of a diverse ecological, surface water and groundwater monitoring programme, including planning and application of programme logic, extensive procurement, contract and budget management. > Preparation of watering event summaries and real-time communications describing the ecological response to environmental watering. > Data collation and coordination of site-based water use accounting at the conclusion of watering events. > Assessment of data and provision of scientific advice, and procurement and collation of independent scientific advice, to guide environmental watering. > Participation in various on-ground ecological surveys.
