Based on 10 years of experience with Michelle, my first and foremost thought is that she is the Internet's unsung hero. Humble, dedicated, intelligent, and loyal also come to mind. IMO her hands-on coordination of the Internet deserves a place in the hall of fame. To say that she would be an asset to any organization would be an understatement. As a seasoned bridge between technical and coordinating communities she has demonstrated the rare ability to build - and maintain - relationships across the "eclectic" personalities that created and keep the Internet running. In this respect her diplomatic skills rival those of professional diplomats I know. We trusted her as we knew she would always be honest and transparent. Though modest regarding her technical abilities, she has no fear of patiently wading into esoteric topics as demonstrated by her decades as IETF liaison. Michelle is the perfect combination of good nature and experience.

I had the pleasure of working with Michelle since 2003. While a staff member for Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), her role was to support the nit-picky protocol designers at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). She did that job extremely well. She did it with a smile, and she always found ways to build community. She was constantly explaining processes and procedures, and where appropriate she worked to change them. She lead the way to documenting them for the whole community (to list three examples, see RFC 6335, RFC 7120, and RFC 8126). She helped the Internet community create many protocol parameter registries, and keep them properly populated. She ensured that procedures are readily available to all. The IANA function is vital to the operation and growth of the Internet. I applaud her role an providing a quality IANA service over many years. Thank you for an excellent job.
