Saint Peter’s University Hospital is a non-profit, 478-bed acute-care teaching hospital sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. Saint Peter’s brings the latest medical practices and highly skilled professionals to the bedside and has been awarded The Joint Commission National Quality Approval and Gold Seal of Approval® for Perinatal Care and Magnet Recognized American Nurses Credentialing Center. I researched in maternal-fetal medicine under the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I took part in the Pfizer Investigational RSV Vaccine Phase 3 Clinical Trial, trying to recruit participants and following up with already enrolled mothers. I learned how to effectively communicate with patients, update enrollment logs, and navigate the patient portal in an effort to streamline the research process. • Screened 500+ potential mothers to enroll in Pfizer Investigational RSV Vaccine Phase 3 Clinical Trial based on a set of inclusion and exclusion criteria set forth by Pfizer. • Followed up with mother participants through weekly calls, journal logs, and monthly outpatient visits to monitor any reactions, side effects, or adverse events from the vaccine. • Worked closely with my preceptor, fellow research coordinators, and PI to keep up to date with new study protocols and communicate any issues or findings

Molecular Technologist

Pathline is a local hemopathology located in Bergen County that focuses on a multitude of different types of cancer detection from local hospitals around the area. Recently, they opened a virology department to help with the detection of COVID-19 that caters to the states across the nation, like New Jersey, California, Texas, and Florida. As a molecular technologist, I performed COVID-19 tests using RT-PCR for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 in upper respiratory patient specimens. • Tested over 2,000 COVID-19 RT-PCR tests daily for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2. • Analyze and report lab results for the positive or negative detection of SARS-CoV-2. • Oversee the training of new technologists on the acquisition, sampling, and testing of COVID samples. • Assist managers and supervisors in the troubleshooting of samples in the receiving, processing, and resulting phases. • Collaborate with other technologists to maintain the company’s turnaround time of 24 hrs in order for clients to receive results in a timely manner.
