Michelle Rash served in Alexander Burnett MSP's Parliamentary Office from January to May 2017 under the direct supervision of myself, Chief of Staff to Alexander Burnett MSP. During this time, she performed a number of roles: 1. Writing, publishing and distributing parliamentary updates to constituents via e-newsletter, letters and website. 2. Organising constituency surgery tours and setting up diary appointments. 3. Responding to constituents, managing casework and updating the casework database. 4. Attending party briefings and carrying out duties at the annual party conference. 5. Attending meetings with lobbyists, taking notes and following up action points. 6. Monitoring the parliamentary official record attributed to my appearances in the Chamber and in Committee. 7. Inputting data analysis for a constituency wide survey. 8. Maintaining a social media presence. Michelle performed all of the above to the highest standard and was at all times an exemplary intern. Her willingness to work, attention to detail and intuition gives me no hesitation in giving her the fullest of references for any future position. I have no doubt that a successful career lies ahead of her.

Michelle was a fantastic intern: intellectually agile, a dedicated professional, and a delightful presence in the office. Her contribution to our team was far greater than I could have anticipated when we hired her. Michelle will be an invaluable addition to anyone’s team.
