Conduct math and algebra lessons for a class of diversely talented students and apply latest math methodologies to tailor each lesson based on different learning needs of each student. Develop and deploy a classroom culture based on promoting student interest in the subject and creating safe spaces for all students, ensuring all their learning and emotional needs are met. Provide feedback on student progress and support development of relevant student development plans by actively participating in all weekly staff meetings and staff development days. Cultivate and strengthen trust-based relationships with students to gain better insight into their developmental needs, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as backgrounds. Provide expertise in conducting vertical planning for lessons for 5th-8th grade math classes in line with student needs. Conduct student performance tests including Measure of Progress (MAP) tests and NC Check-Ins to assess their progress against the designated metrics and support performance-specific interventions. Utilize Google Classroom and Notability to modify teaching strategies and styles to adjust learning and hybrid settings. Key Accomplishments: Received the highest end-of-the-year math scores for all schools in Matthews Charter Academy (2021). Judge for Odyssey of the Mind Regional Competitions (2015; 2023). Coached Odyssey of the Mind (2016 – 2017). Coached Math Olympics (2015 – 2020). Assisted with Junior Beta Club (2014 – 2016). Established Teacher Encouragement Board in the workroom (2018). Attained and maintained Parent-Teacher Conference Attendance at 100%. Show less
