Responsibilities include overseeing statewide reform initiative providing processes for building inclusive school-based plans for improvement, specific and needed technical assistance and resources to schools seeking to engage parents, families, and community partners in more meaningful and purposeful ways. Facilitates stakeholder empowerment, local level identification of challenges and needs, empowering teachers for change, parent and community engagement, cultivation of local resources, focus on data-driven problem framing, problem solving, and results analysis. Creates agendas and chairs monthly Board of Director Meetings with CommPACT partners (American Federation of Teachers-Connecticut, Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, Connecticut Education Association, Connecticut Federation of School Administrators and Neag School of Education). Serves as principal spokesperson for the program with the CommPACT Schools, the University Community, the State of Connecticut Leadership and the media. Provides mediation among all stakeholders to ensure the success of the program. Supervises CommPACT administrative staff, budgeting and overall operations. Coordinates research agenda with Neag faculty and CommPACT Schools.
