Michele is in the second four-year term as West Bloomfield Township Supervisor. A Township Supervisor is the equivalent of a CEO, full-time Mayor, City Manager, Police and Fire Commissioner and overseas the water and sewer operations. As the CEO of the fifth largest of 1,240 townships in the State, with an approximate $78 million budget in 2016 (for general, public safety and water and sewer funds), Michele has produced seven balanced budgets with a fund balance exceeding general finance guidelines through the economic downturn. She implemented numerous energy efficiency infrastructure upgrades with stimulus funds at all township facilities. During her leadership the gateway to the community, at 14 Mile and Orchard Lake Road, has been transformed with a new hotel, retail establishments and a roundabout. Very little vacancy remains in the township. Under her leadership a new town center ordinance was developed, the first 20 year water and sanitary sewer master plans were produced, new ordinances were developed to protect the township from gas and oil drilling and sexual oriented businesses. She established the first annual budget video, first annual State of the Township address (now in the seventh year) and first annual Wellness Day event (now in the seventh year). Show less
