I am responsible for the Food department’s stock file, in order to maintain stock levels and availability of products. Trading legally is an important part of the role by ensuring ticketing for every product is visible. The recording of waste products in line with company directives. The role demands I am well organised, have good time management skills, able to work on my own initiative and have an attention to detail and investigative skills. My role dictates I am visible also to the public routinely and a major part of the M&S ethos is putting the customer over task always. Knowledge of your working environment, constantly changing offer and product knowledge is paramount in order to assist and advise whenever necessary

    • Collections Manager
      • Mar 2008 - Jul 2012

I started working in the collections team for Thomsons in 1996 as a negotiator. Progressing through the ranks as Senior, Team Leader and Collections Manager in 2008. I have managed teams of different sizes (9-23) and deal with external DCA's and Solicitors on a routine basis.I have developed in house and external processes to meet the ever changing needs of the business over the past 4 years. Introducing new tools to the collections process and outsourcing of some tasks to ensure a most cost effective outcome to the business. With development from print only to a mixture of print and digital media products my department has needed to adapt to meet these demands whilst reducing aged debt and increasing cash collection by introducing regular performance reviews and reports & introducing paperless direct debits plus developing and introducing new technologies. I've introduced SMS and voice communication process for bulk transmission, pay by text services and an outsource of 'new' debt to benchmark performance whilst maintaining current departmental and individual performance levels. I have created a tailored review document for performance against targets and overall competancy rating for Collections team. I have redrafted full written suite of communications to customers, developed and enhanced in house processes for bulk identification of potential cancellation of products to reduce risk to business for deliquewnt debtors. Regular assessment of current suppliers performance and service level agreements include data protection requirements.. Reviewed routinely both staff and DCA and litigation specialists performance including negotiation of competitive and realistic commission rates.Strengths include performance management and analysis. Keen eye for detail and problem resolution plus investigative tasks. Innovative and willing to try new skills. I am a team player but equally comfortable working on my own. I am committed, enthusiatic and enjoy a challenge.
