I am studying the stone microbial community with both culture dependent and independent methods (DNA sequencing with Illumina). I am responsible for each part of the project, from the sampling to the data elaboration and utilization of economic resources. 14-months fellowship at prof. Research period at the department of Water Research, at laboratory of dr. Osnat Gillor, as part of the project BIOSTONE, in collaboration with Università degli Studi di Milano. The exchange allowed me to share results, to adjust the strategy of research with the israeli group and improving my bioinformatic skills (use of Mothur and UPARSE to treat Illumina data, writing small scripts in Python and use of R to statistycally treat data).
