I had the privilege of working with Michael on ZENB as part of a very small Marketing team for this startup DTC business. Michael quickly showcased himself as a strong talent within the organization and has made himself invaluable in a number of areas. He approached his work with both a strategic as well as operational lens, even when the areas weren’t necessarily within his expertise. While he didn’t have anyone specifically reporting to him, I have no doubt he will be a strong team leader – he showed emotional intelligence, empathy and strong communication skills, all of which are hallmarks of good leaders.

Michael was a pleasure to have as a co-worker and mentee. In his first job after graduating from college, he quickly earned trust with the brand team leadership by displaying off the charts learning agility. It seemed that no task was too big for him to tackle and he consistently exceeded expectations. When the manager role above him was vacated, he stepped up and delivered, driving significant progress on all of the initiatives in both his work plan but also taking ownership of his manager's work plan and deliverables. You might think that someone right out of college that achieved significant success marketing a $1BN+ brand would have an inflated ego- to the contrary, Michael is extremely humble and a great team player. It is obvious that he wants to win by helping the entire team win, rather than seeing success as a zero-sum game. He has a bright future ahead of him in marketing.
