As the Director of Corporate Strategy and Finance, Michael was my direct supervisor at ENGIE Fabricom Canada for two years. Entering ENGIE at a time of transition, Michael overhauled the entire Finance Department though process change, re-delegation of critical responsibilities and helped align the existing Finance/SCM team to work as a cohesive unit. Through a multitude of check-in’s and group discussions, Michael helped our team grow and broadened our capabilities - processes were refined, and as a result it was pleasure coming into work again. He excels in the ability to deal with conflicting priorities in high pressure situations – all while keeping his cool and leading a team of multiple directs. Michael is a shining example of ‘practice what you preach’; he cares very deeply about corporate culture and the systemic consequences of low company morale, and tout’s teamwork at every possible avenue. On a micro level - he focuses on the individual’s career goals and fitting those goals into the bigger picture. Macro level, Michael constantly adjusts internal processes to lean out process management, and hone best practices. As a leader, Michael was supportive, invested in my personal success and communicative. He is a standout people manager who takes a genuine interest in his employees and will be an asset to any company.
