As a former supervisor of Michael Schaefer for several years, I highly recommend Michael for any position that requires recruiting, managing, or motivating non-profit volunteers. Michael is trustworthy and very hard working.

David Brown

I have known Michael Schaefer since 2002, when I stepped in as the Interim Executive Director of Angel’s Wings, a non-profit organization that provides a unique model for temporary emergency shelter and respite to children from birth to 12 years of age who have been removed from abuse and neglect situations by the state child protection services. I worked with and directly supervised Michael for the year that I served in that capacity. A dedicated and extremely hard-working individual who is lead by his convictions, Michael always believed in the mission of Angel’s Wings and deftly stepped up to many of the Executive Director’s responsibilities where needed while the position was vacant. Then, upon my arrival, he continued to give input, make suggestions, and take on tasks to help grow the organization. Michael did this while still effectively handling the huge responsibilities of recruiting, training and maintaining several hundred volunteers. Michael put in long hours and focused all of his skill and tenacity to accomplishing the mission of Angel’s Wings. I admire his conviction and will be forever grateful for the strength, dedication and commitment with which he acted upon it. David G. Bridge Women's Support Center is commonly referred to as a pregnancy resource center and is a member of Heartbeat International. I was the only full-time employee for all but my final month for this small charity with two locations that serves thousands of women and children each year. I reported to their Board of Directors. Highlights of my tenure: 1) Worked with a small team to increase donations by 78% to $308K during their FY 2017, which was their best fundraising year in at least 19 years. 2) Increased donations for their annual baby bottle boomerang campaign by 170% to approximately $73,000. I spent only $2,000 to raise this money. 3) Developed and implemented a client survey for their Material Assistance Program with the assistance of staff from St. John's University. With help from a marketing professor, it appears this will become an annual survey involving dozens of marketing students. 4) Established an internship program by partnering with Catholic Charities and New York City.
