I joined Mt Hope to have the opportunity to more directly influence the success of a business. This is a small but super successful family operation, and i hope my background and experience will be an asset as its successes continue to grow. I handle assorted IT, design, and operational endeavors, and do my best to remember the difference between Hazelnuts and Filberts. Contributed to design, development and technology strategy for the web. I lead the standardization of the markup for the company's two major web properties, and lead the design of the small-screen versions for both. I developed internal and external web tools, and spent most of time writing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP/MySQL. I had a great time. Really great.

    • Web Designer/Developer
      • Sep 2005 - Mar 2008

I was hired as a designer and 'developer' for the customer facing web properties at Discount Tire. I was responsible for display ads (both static and animated) and visual marketing assets for our websites. I also contributed design comps for iterative changes to the user experience, and wrote HTML, CSS and javascript for approved designs. I showed deeper development abilities and eventually transitioned into a role that spent more time working on programming and less on marketing visuals.

I worked as a retail sales associate and moonlighted as a software designer/engineer. I decided the latter was closer to being my cup of tea than the former, and without any luck in my pursuits at Bose, I sought work elsewhere.
