The national representative organisation for the private and voluntary nursing home sector, with a Membership of 400+ nursing homes. I hold responsibility for all internal and external communications within the national organisation. This includes ongoing members and stakeholder briefings and engagement; managing media; promotion of brand NHI and the private and voluntary nursing home sector; producing publications including newspaper supplements, newsletters, booklets, leaflets; compiling submissions and correspondence; speech and op-ed writing; event planning and management including conferences, education days, photocalls; website and social media management. Research entails analysing and briefing in respect of reports, policy, legislation, statistics, Leinster House debates, and inputting FOI requests. The lobbying element of the role entails ongoing representations and briefings to policy, political stakeholders and also to wider public re healthcare provision issues, challenges & opportunities. This includes delivering specific campaigns, reader-friendly briefings, tabling PQs, engaging with media, ongoing monitoring of Leinster House debates.

The conference received extensive national media coverage. Also assumed responsibility for development & management of charities new website, the planning & promotion of annual lecture, development and management of fundraising strategies, newsletter production, ongoing engagement with media re issues affecting care provision for children in hospitals.
