  The Committee is responsible for systematic engagement of AFA-CWA Members to achieve a vital connection of two-way communication between AFA-CWA Members and AFA-CWA Leadership. The committee structure encourages a high level of participation from the AFA-CWA membership to build solidarity and power to support all Union efforts to defend and enhance the Flight Attendant profession.

• Grievance Committee

  This Committee’s primary objective is to enforce the Contract and protect all Flight Attendants against arbitrary and unjust disciplinary action. The committee works directly with AFA-CWA Staff Attorneys along with other grievance representatives to secure the best possible procedures for all Flight Attendants in the arbitration of their Grievances.

• Master Executive Council -Hotel and Transportation Committee

  The MEC Hotel and Transportation Committee is responsible for monitoring trends and investigating complaints on current layover facilities. The goal is to improve the overall safety and comfort level to Flight Attendant layover hotels.Along with recommended changes, there are also the Flight Attendant Hotel Standards which were agreed to by both AFA and United management on September 22, 1999.The MEC Hotel and Transportation continues to work on improving the quality of all hotels, system-wide, and resolve Flight Attendant Hotel and Transportation issues whenever they arise.

  Representing over 800 United Airlines Flight Attendants from the Greater New York Area.Serve in the capacity as the local liaison to the Safety Committee working with United Airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration, and AFA-CWA International Air Safety, Health & Security Department to maintain and improve Flight Attendant safety, health, and cabin safety standards.The Committee monitors and participates in accident/incident investigations; participates in monthly safety meetings with the company; participates in congressional hearings dealing with Flight Attendant safety and health issues; participates in designing cabin interiors of new and reconfigured aircraft; coordinates with United’s Initial and Recurrent training programs to ensure consistency with FAA and AFA-CWA objectives.

  Local Vice-President for the Greater New York Area.Served on the AFA-CWA's Government Affairs Department working diligently to ensure that legislators are aware of Flight Attendant views on important issues. Decisions which affect crew member safety and security, work environment and job security are routinely made in Washington, D.C. The grassroots activities are intended to educate elected officials about aviation issues. Lobbying is an essential component of a successful union program
