Kerry Mortensen
Becoming a Field Service Engineer with AlixaRx in 2016, I was introduced to Mike as The Director of IT. I quickly saw the intricate and unique cross-coordination needs from the Corporate Information Technology department, across every facet of company operations. Being at the forefront of face-to-face interaction between Corporate, The Pharmacy Hub, and The Skilled Nursing Facilities, I had a prime view of how well these IT services performed under Mike's command. With a keen professional knowledge of Skilled Nursing, Pharmacy and Healthcare, Mike manages his reporting staff in a personal and accomplished manor. Never before, with my experience with Corporate IT Departments, had I been so close as I was with Mike and his teams. Mike always brought a humble but confident demeanor to the table, which perfectly lends itself well in all situations. Mike worked, as well as directed his staff, to diligently come along side all teams to accomplish company goals. Many times, I had the privilege and pleasure to team side-by-side and under Mike, accomplishing the goals to make our company a leading provider of Pharmacy Dispensation Service. I currently miss being a part of this personal and professional relationship, and would jump at any future opportunity to work with Mike again. Any corporation seeking to fill a role or upgrade, would benefit greatly bringing Mike to their team. Sincerely, Kerry K Mortensen Proven Field Service Professional

I worked with Mike on multiple consulting assignments and always found him to be thoughtful, decisive, and very easy to work with. He has a wide range of experience both technically and managerially and would be a tremendous asset for any organization. Highly recommended!

I lead the IT function for AlixaRx (much like a CIO). This includes managing a Private Cloud Hosting vendor, Network & Telecommunications vendors, a VOIP Telephone system, Cyber Security, the network connectivity between AlixaRx & customer locations, software packages, integrations, Server/Network Engineering team, the Software Development team, The Technical Support team, and the QA team. My team supports 5 institutional pharmacies, 250+ customer locations, and our corporate office. My position leads 12 direct reports and up to 25 team members. I report directly to the President & CEO of AlixaRx. Accomplishments: • Saved $1.2M annually with “hardball” negotiations on Private Cloud Hosting • Scaled-down IT Department to save $975K per year • Managed complex migration to new enterprise operating concept saving $6M in labor • Reduced IT operating budget by > 40% over a 2-year period

IT Strategic Business Unit Director, Golden Living Centers & Clinical
-
Aug 1991 - Oct 2012
My role was focused on the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) side of Golden Living’s business. I was responsible for IT systems for the SNFs as well as custom software applications, implementation of packaged solutions, open systems, Point of Care systems, back-office systems, Business Intelligence, and Web/Intranet services. Periodically, I was asked to assist business lines such as Therapy and Hospice to assist in their IT efforts (despite the fact these businesses had separate IT departments). My team size varied with project load from 5 to 25 FTEs with 5-10 Direct Reports as well as matrixed resources. I was asked to join Golden Living’s Pharmacy Startup, AlixaRx, as the leader of IT due to my reputation and successes. Accomplishments: • Negotiated a reduction of $1.5M on purchase of 800 replacement timeclocks via trade-in of existing obsolete timeclocks. • Developed and executed a plan to bring custom software development back in-house reducting costs by $1M over 3 years after a failed outsourcing agreement. • Architected and led the migration of a distributed IBM S36 legacy application to a centralized IBM iSeries environment serving over 350 SNFs and saving $1.5m in annual S36 maintenance costs with IBM. • Created the IT Architecture Committee to manage risk of IT initiatives from an Application Architecture, Security Architecture, Database Architecture, and Hardware/Infrastructure Architecture perspective. • Implemented a Labor and Census data warehouse to reduce overtime costs by $2.5M per annum. • Created a Clinical Data Mart facilitating the sale of de-identified patient data to Pharmaceutical manufacturers generating $1M annually. • Determined the solution and led the Y2K Project to remediate over 5M lines of Legacy Cobol and CICS source code. • Architected and led the creation of a solution for the conversion of 4M Physician’s Orders into an Electronic Health Record saving over $950K in temporary labor in 7 months.
