I am working as an insurance analyst where my main focus areas are in ensuring that Fora's collective insurance register is correct and up to date.   The Swallows India Bangladesh is a non-profit non-governmental development organisation, with the head office in Lund, Sweden. The Swallows was established in 1959 and works in India since 1962 and in Bangladesh since 1973. The vision of the organisation is a just world, free from poverty, where people with power to influence their own lives live in solidarity with each other and in long term, sustainable relationship with nature. The aim is to strengthen disadvantaged groups to take control of their lives and claim their rights. I participated in an internship funded by Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency). I was placed at The Swallows' partner organisation Evidence in Madurai, India. Evidence is an organisation dealing with caste issues in the state of Tamil Nadu. My responsibilities during the internship was to conduct an evaluation on one of Evidence´s programmes, drafting a research proposal, as well as carrying out communication work for The Swallows India Bangladesh in Sweden.   NIAS - the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies - is an academically independent Nordic research and resource center, focusing on modern Asia from a predominantly social sciences perspective. I was a SUPRA scholarship holder at the institute and hence, I was able to work with my Master thesis at the institute.   The Centre for Research and Education for Social Transformation (CREST) was launched as an autonomous institution on April 1, 2008 by the Government of Kerala. It is the successor institution of Centre of Excellence which was established in 2002 by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), one of the reputed management institutions of the country, with the support of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Department, Govt of Kerala, India. Since its very inception the Centre has been offering programmes to cater to the educational, cultural and socio-economic mobility of the Scheduled Communities of Kerala.
