I am the sole photographer for Light Republic, photographing a mixture of families, babies, children as well as professional headshots in the studio. I have full control over the lighting and like to use both low and high key set-ups in each session. Sessions are an hour long, in each one I photograph the subjects in a variety of poses, on different backdrops and use contemporary and traditional styles. I also proof edit photos ready to be shown for the clients viewing using software such as Photo Mechanic, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

      • Aug 2020 - Jul 2021

I am currently working as a Media Studies Teacher at Salesian College. I am teaching both years 12 and 13 classes at A Level. I am working in a department of two (myself included). As a small department I have a lot of responsibilities: such as creating mock exams, mark schemes and assessments. As we have just changed exam board it has also been my responsibility to create my own teaching resources, success criteria and example answers.I thoroughly enjoy teaching Media Studies and love promoting a love for learning in my classroom. Students in my class have high expectations set from day one. I am very aware of all students abilities and behaviour for learning and have a range of behaviour strategies in place. I thoroughly enjoy Media Studies having studied it myself at GCSE and A Level, I am able to share my passion for the subject with my students which enables them to enjoy the subject also. I can see that my students love the subject as their engagement levels are high and the effort and progress in learning is clear to see.Seeing my student's skills develop and love for the subject grow is the most enjoyable part of being a teacher.

This role encompasses photographing children, babies and families in swimming leisure centres. I organise my subjects into a number of different poses and work quickly to keep the children’s attention and excitement. I then edit the photos on Adobe Photoshop. The end result is a vibrant, beautiful portrait, the water making a great backdrop. Sales are also important in this role, as there are targets to meet, which I find very motivating. This job consists of three main roles; photography, customer service, and promoting. PixiFoto specialises in family photography, photographing pregnancies, babies a few weeks old, toddlers and children as well as big families. During the photography sessions I have the opportunity to pose my subjects and create different themes and photographic styles; from traditional to contemporary. We then move on to edit the images straight away. When editing we do the basic touch-ups such as cropping and brightening of images, we then create five different styles of collages, a colour splash, images with text, and turn some images to black and white, retro or sepia coloured. When requested I also remove any scratches or blemishes. Other duties include; telesales, promoting in different Mothercare and Debenhams stores, making sales, courtesy calls, answering messages on Facebook, cleaning and organising the studio, checking the lights and camera. We have individual and team targets to reach daily and weekly, it is vital we meet these targets. This is a very fast paced role, where great customer service and a positive attitude is vital to achieving big results. The role is improving my communication skills. I am learning how to pose and direct people more confidently and photograph faster, my creativity is constantly being used and challenged and my sales skills are constantly growing.

Main duties include; teaching 16 year olds basic photography, planning lessons, giving presentations and demonstrations, delegating tasks and shepherding them to different locations. The most important skills for this role is time management and adaptability. Every week my class liaise with different community partners which can vary from museums, care homes, foreign summer camps and other charities. I work alongside a senior mentor and sometimes a support worker. The programme is about getting the young people to challenge themselves and get them involved in the local community. They have the opportunity to talk to strangers, make friends, face their fears, and perform a presentation in front of friends and family. It is a very rewarding programme for the young people as well as myself.
