I have worked with Michaela in my capacity as the Minister Counsellor (Economic) at the South African Embassy in Beijing. Michaela is a consummate business development and marketing professional with complete expertise of the South African wine industry. I have worked with Michaela in a professional capacity since 2016 and in this time , I have witnessed how she has elevated the status and stature of South African wines in the Chinese market. In order to achieve this Michaela dilligently developed the market by strategically positioning Wines of South Africa at multiple trade shows, by leading roadshows across China and by dilligently supporting the local importers and distributors. She has in-depth understanding of the Asian market she understands the nuances of the business culture in the region and her attention to detail is evident in the manner in which she executed projects under difficult circumstances. Michaela is a true ambassador of who represented her industry and her country with distinction.

Michaela is one of the hardest working, best organized, dedicated, reliable, honest, and committed person I have had the pleasure to work with since we set up Diverse Flavours eight years ago. She has tremendous knowledge and passion for wine and is action orientated. Michaela is a great networker, understands the business and if she chooses to go into the commercial side of the business will be a formidable asset to any company. Wines of South Africa (WOSA) is a not for profit company with the mission of representing all exporters of South African wines and promoting these wines abroad. Initial organizational tasks focused on promotional activities, activity plans, and market research in both the Asia and India regions. Demonstrated success led to reassignment representing both Europe (Scandinavia, Russia, Benelux and Germany) and Asia territories in the development of wine brand strategies and key staff members. Initially tasked with marketing and brand maintenance of corporate identity across all corporate components (wine, restaurant, accommodation, and golf offering). As of November 2006, the company had grown to a size that justified a more concentrated focus on each element of the Kleine Zalze package and I was tasked to enact commercial tasks related to the Kleine Zalze Wine brands, with specific focus on local South African market.
