I’m in charge of a batch style chlorinated paraffin operation through DCS and outside actions. The end result is a viscous material used in machine lubrications. It is also used in foam sprays and in making floor mats. Some of the byproducts are hydrochloric acid and bleach. I run test on these to make sure they meet specifications and change set points on the DCS accordingly to make the byproducts can be sold. I checked the plant daily and ran test on samples throughout the plant to make sure we were within state guidelines provided by the State of North Carolina. I hold a Grade 4 certification in wastewater treatment which I still keep up to date. This job also provided me with ten years of industrial maintenance and heavy equipment operation.
