Currently in the Sales / Management training program for the Water Works division of Ferguson Enterprises. The training program is a rotation through all aspects of the business: Warehouse - hands on experience with products, shipping and receiving material. Counter - face to face time with customers, continued expanding product knowledge and learned Ferguson computer systems and process for all aspects of business. Template Creation -Interpreted Municipality Specification books to create accurate templates for inside sales employees. Estimating - Learned to read complex water / sewer line construction plans and do take-offs of necessary materials for job quoting / bidding purposes. Inside sales - Responsible for managing all sales functions within the company, developing and maintaining customer relationships, preparing job quotes and proposals, working with vendors to accurately provide pricing / inventory information with our customers. • Windigo Surfboards
    • Oceanside, CA
    • Entrepreneurial Assistant / Brand Ambassador
      • 2011 - 2013

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Windigo Surfboards, Seaworthy Surf Shop, Hoist Stand Up Paddle Boards, and Buck Skate Trucks. As an Assistant I worked directly with the founding entrepreneurs on branding and marketing strategies for new and existing brands and products including Windigo Surfboards and all associated companies: Buck Skate Trucks, Seaworthy Surf Shop, Hoist S.U.P. and Gnarlywood Distribution. During my time with Windigo I helped build brand awareness through special events planning, social media campaigns, media content production, community interaction, and gorilla marketing campaigns. I also assisted with the production of annual Holiday events and industry trade shows. I gained invaluable experience and entrepreneurial inspiration through assisting in bringing new brands and products to market, including the opening of a brick and mortar retail front Seaworthy Surf Shop in Carlsbad, CA. I assisted with the entire buildout of the project from designing and building retail displays, product photo shoots for the e-commerce platform www.seaworthysurf.com, and helped coordinate and market the grand opening event. • Fiberglass Specialist / Marketing Coordinator
      • 2011 - 2013

I managed all operations of a surfboard repair business including budget, materials, repairs, customer service, and marketing. With a focus on business efficiency I was able to cut overhead by sourcing as much up-cycled material as possible for each repair. Being within an existing surfboard factory I was able to find materials which were no longer useable for new* surfboard production but were perfectly suited to fiberglass repairs. The majority of the work I did was with scrap cloth, discarded sandpaper, and bottom of the bucket polyester / epoxy resins. I was able to maintain a steady stream of incoming repairs from new and return customers through quality work, devoted customer service, social media marketing and word of mouth. Social Media tools like Instagram allowed me to target my local demographic of surfers and build an audience for media based discounts and contest. I also used picture messaging to provide upfront quotes on repairs, saving customers time and money. Show less
