I am pleased and honored to write this letter of recommendation for Michael Weinberg. Mike worked as the Category Manager - Food Service, at Allen Brothers Wholesale for three years. He was responsible for all food service categories, in addition to special initiatives such as our first annual trade show, the launch of Allen Brothers’ proprietary coffee brand, and creating media for a new eCommerce website. One of his first accomplishments was improving the efficiency of our coffee program, whereby Allen Brothers loans coffee equipment to customers at no cost. In return, customers agree to purchase all bulk bean/ground coffee and accessories from Allen Brothers, with a target minimum based on the value of the equipment installed. During his first year, Mike performed an extensive review of customer accounts and their buying trends, visited stores, and redeployed equipment as deemed necessary. Year over year analysis showed that total equipment on loan had decreased 25%, with the same number of accounts enrolled in the program, and returned a slightly higher margin. The net impact: Return on installed assets increased 10%, and the equipment surplus allowed us to support and grow the program further in the following year. I’ve been constantly impressed with Mike’s attention to detail, his willingness to ask questions, and his ability to adapt and learn new skills. When I rolled out new sales and territory reporting utilizing Tableau, Mike was one of our earliest adopters. His questions and user input helped me improve the product’s interface and functionality. Mike has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and is sorely missed. A team player and all-around decent human being, he always treats others with compassion, respect and professionalism, regardless of the situation.
