Helen Graham BA(Hons) MCIPS

Michael was my line manager at St Helens Chamber for 4 years and during that time I always found Michael approachable and amenable. I was able to consult Michael for opinion and direction when I needed it and I was also left to make my own decisions on day-to-day operational aspects of my role. Michael is a very pragmatic and down-to-earth person and gives and earns trust and respect from colleagues. I always felt supported by Michael in my role and if the opportunity arose in the future, I would not hesitate to work with, or for, Michael again.

Cordner Peacocke

Michael had a clear strategy for the development of Shawton Engineering and its sister company, Biomass Engineering Ltd., which we were more involved with. Michael had a strong understanding for the operational structure, required financing and skill levels for Shawton and Biomass and how to leverage the skills of Shawton to develop Biomass into a company delivering turnkey gasification projects. It was clear that his skills were contributing massively to the sound operation of both businesses.

Sysco is a well established, £10.5m T/O Merseyside Group delivering funded training and consultancy in the UK and Poland. Head hunted from St Helens Chamber in the role of MD for expansion of private consultancy arm of the group in Poland and the UK but the then prevailing economic factors rendered this impractical. Re-engineered business to develop ongoing sustainable solution which consolidated the cost base whilst maximised future revenue potential and then left by amicable mutual agreement, continuing to work with Sysco on the delivery of projects in the UK and wider EU with AIMES.
