      I was responsible for establishing the BHP Billiton India Development Foundation. Key achievements and experience: • Successfully establishing the Development Foundation for BHP Billiton which played a pivotal role in them obtaining mining rights in India. Identifying suitable NGO’s, wrote a Charter for the Foundation, establishing it legally in India and developing a budget and communication strategy for the Indian State and National governments. The Foundation launched on October 4 2005 and was seen as particularly successful within the business.

Recruiting and co-ordinating a review team for Phase 1, compiling recommendations for Phase 2, working with contracts for tendering, managing handover to new team from Phase 1. Implementation of Phase 2 achieved on time and on budget. • Overseeing development and implementation of AusAID/Asian Development Bank PNG Microfinance Project. Working with relevant officials in Manila, AusAID officials in Port Moresby and PNG government officials to develop suitable model. Recruiting qualified and experienced team to work in country. • Managing successful review of the AusAID aid program by Japan and Germany. Co-ordinating initial written response to the review team, conducting field visits to PNG and Indonesia, and presentations at head quarters in Canberra.
