The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for the overall admissions for two units (New Vistas and CSU) in the Jefferson Hills Lakewood facility. The Admissions Coordinator implements an efficient admissions procedure and process that is customer friendly to the referral source, parents, and youth. The Admissions Coordinator will interact with both outside agencies and with team members with diplomacy, respect and professionalism.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Monitors and coordinates admissions of clients for two units (New Vistas and CSU) in Lakewood facility in order to maximize the capacity of both programs. • Manages BHO/insurance/contracts for admissions in cooperation with external stakeholders to ensure all information and processes are completed to support billing, including acquiring initial authorization and collecting insurance information. • Completes the pre-admit screening process with the Crisis Reporter or the Emergency Room Reporter. • Provides accurate and detailed billing information in TIER, to include documenting primary and secondary insurance information and attempts to obtain authorization for NV and CSU walk-in crisis evaluation services.• Ensures that all information that is pertinent to the intake at New Vistas is obtained from the Emergency Services Team and/or the Emergency Room. i.e. Psychiatric Evaluation, Medical Clearance and M-1 status.• Collaborates with the Admissions Nurse on duty about the information to get the nurse-to-nurse completed for patients transferring from a hospital setting. • Accurately and concisely completes the Census Report for the end of each shift.• Provides ongoing feedback and information on the status of admissions to clinical team members to coordinate intake and admission efforts. • Maintains strong customer service including supporting youths and parents who may be in crisis with assistance from other JH staff members.
