      Responsible for design of installation kits for AP-3C Autopilot System Created mechanical design, detailed drawings, and performance specifications for autopilot during startup phase. Supervised one mechanical and one electrical engineer during period of six months. Sole contributor for first ten Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) data packages for eight single and two twin engine general aviation aircraft during startup of the AP-3C autopilot program. Successfully received FAA approval of all ten STCs from Southwest Region FAA Headquarters in Ft. Worth. Performed flight tests in the role as test engineer during autopilot performance and malfunction flight tests. Recruited additional engineering staff, directed STC data packages, and received FAA approval of all subsequent STCs after acceleration of AP-3C program in 2004. Primary customer technical support for AP-3C installation to fifty dealers in U.S. and Canada. Identified local machine shops and sheet metal assembly subcontractors to support delivery of AP-3C autopilot kits to dealers in U.S. and Canada. Show less
