    • SASMO Chief
      • Oct 2013 - Present

While becoming a Warrant Officer for the NC National Guard, I spent most of my WOBC working on designing, building and troubleshooting networks on a large scale. While I was at school I also obtained my CCNA which focuses on network architecture and topology, including transmission protocols, broadcasting, multicasting, switching, routing, control, and management. With the Army working a generation or two behind the civilian sector we are constantly working to integrate our legacy equipment into the newer available technologies. As a SASMO I work to setup and maintain network access using the VSAT and CASIS systems. I maintain all STAMIS systems for the 30th ABCT across all Battalions. I work with the Battalion Staff aiding in plans and operations. I also work as the Battalion S6 until a new Captain is assigned to HHC 230th BSB. Show less

    • Information Technology Specialist (Network Operations Center) JFHQ-G6
      • Feb 2017 - Dec 2017

Since transitioning from a Customer Service Representative to the Network Operations Center, I have been placed in charge of several projects working under a Senior Network Engineer. My current project is the updating of all remote site routers to a newer CISCO 4300 series router. This includes the programming of the new router, the installation of the new equipment, and testing of functionality once installed. There are 100 remote sites that need this new equipment installed and customer impact needs to be minimized. My ongoing project is implementation of the CISCO Identity Services Engine (I.S.E.). I am in charge of the fine tuning of this CISCO solution to work with our current network architecture. My duties include support for over 300 CISCO switches and 100 CISCO routers across the entire state of North Carolina. Show less

    • Customer Service Representative for JFHQ-G6
      • Jan 2008 - Jan 2017

Since joining the NCARNG G6-ISSB I have worked with different section on software updates and problem solving. Part of my job is documenting issues and the preferred resolution and then advising the G6 Help Desk Supervisor of the best resolution. I have, over the past 10 years, worked with many different system diagnostic tools. This includes everything from network traffic tools to hardware testing tools. I regularly recover lost data for customers on damaged hard drives. I work with management and other sections to resolve higher level issues for customers; such as updating networking equipment, replacing equipment when needed, and working with data service providers. I work on a daily basis with installing and maintaining all types of software and hardware. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft products, CISCO Equipment, and Ricoh multifunction printers. I have worked with the Network Control Center on re-designing the NC Network while moving to the current TWC solution and away from Frame Relay. This gave the network a larger bandwidth to Raleigh for all resources. I work with customers to improve and update the quality of their work by troubleshooting and resolving problems based on the seven layer OSI Model. I served as an Assistant COMSEC Custodian on a Top Secret level account. While in college I have studied several programing classes, but have never had a chance to use the knowledge. Show less
