Current research focusing on high power, high efficiency solid state transmitter design. Recent work includes load pull based development of high efficiency class F-1 amplifiers for cellular basestations (2.11 - 2.17 GHz). Designed several amplifiers with Power Added Efficiency (PAE) in excess of 80%. Key accomplishments include: · Developed custom MATLAB software to perform source and load pull using FOCUS tuners to support high efficiency amplifier designs. Software includes capability to perform both Continuous Wave (CW) and pulsed measurements. · Co-designed class F-1 amplifier having 36W pulsed output power with 78% PAE at 2.14 GHz. · Co-designed class F-1 amplifier having 6W CW output power with 82.6% PAE at 2.15 GHz. This amplifier placed second at the 2010 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) High Efficiency Power Amplifier Competition. Show less
