Structural design included learning and using common structural analysis and design software, as described in my profile summary. I met and worked with a variety of architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate cost effective and efficient structural designs. Initial projects for which I was the project manager under one of BBFM's principals include the following:- Ketchikan Aquatic Center- Petersburg Library- Kodiak Alaska Department of Fish & Game Admin and Research Building- Walter Soboleff Center. Geotechnical research on the use of wick drains to mitigate soil liquefaction. I used geotechnical engineering and statistical methods to evaluate research data regarding a new method of mitigating soil liquefaction in silty sands. I produced a Masters Thesis as a result of my research, see the publications section. Funded by the Utah Department of Transportation and led by my adviser, Dr. Kyle M. Rollins. Additional project data and support was provided Lisheng Shao and Mark Koelling from Hayward Baker, Mike Almeida from Condon Johnson & Associates, Bradford Price and Robert Johnson from RB&G Engineering, and fellow graduate student Emily Dibbs who laid the initial framework for my research with Dr. Rollins.
