I started out assembling chain assemblies for heavy lift equipment. I was then moved to a CNC machine where I was being trained before I had to quit because of some sudden and severe health problems due to an allergic reaction to medication. I owned and operated a small window cleaning company for 20+ years in Kentucky. My customers appreciated my attention to detail and the fact that I would come when they expected me to (weather permitting). I started out with a handful of business cards and I would approach business owners and managers to offer them my services. It started out slow, as most of them didn't know me or my work. But once I got a few clients and the business owners/managers around them started to see my work, my business started to grow. My clients began referring me to their friends and many of my clients began asking me to clean the windows at their homes. It wasn't long before I no longer needed to advertise. All my business came through referrals and people seeing me working in the community. By the time I left my business and moved back to Wisconsin, I had over 70 businesses and clients that I would regularly wash windows for spread over 6 counties. Show less
