I was also the UCM representative to the Higher Education Sub-Group of the Governor’s Homeland Security Oversight Committee ( we coordinated state level homeland security matters pertaining to institutions of higher education both public and private); I also was one of several UCM representatives on the Johnson County Local Emergency Planning Committee (This is a federally mandated body that is responsible for Hazardous Materials response planning in a county level jurisdiction. In reality they take on responsibility for all emergency planning coordination. We scheduled and managed joint exercises and managed joint training and planning.)
