I aid in experiments under my advisor, Dr. Jon Kassel, pertaining to substance use and addiction; more specifically the progression from casual use to dependence through negative affect relief, craving, and neurophysiological sensitization. My main areas of interest include nicotine & alcohol use in addition to their co-use, as well as how aspects within their frontal lobe/executive functioning and dopaminergic reward systems directs individuals' decision making behaviors related to substance use.
