A new position for the company, system overhaul, responsibility included developing the process , planning, scheduling, releasing, and closing of jobs from the receipt of order through the manufacturing department. This position is the focal point in creating and managing all production scheduling for a diverse product line of various seals and gaskets. Liaison between departments including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, System Analyst, Manufacturing Supervisors, Production Leads, Stockroom, and Quality. • Implemented dispatch reports for all departments including fabric seals, hand fabrication, rubber molding/presses, injection molding, machining, die cut, material prep, compound material mixing, and calendaring. • Integral to MRP/ERP implementation and continued support including control of BOM configuration, material, lead-times, labor hours, inventory control and purchasing parameters, maintaining accurate planning parameters. • Set up job parameters for proper operation lead times, establishing roadmap for continuous process improvement. • Regenerated the use of ISO red line procedure to correct processes and job hours improving accuracy of production instructions. • Identified and implemented restructure of BOMs where possible, grouping subassemblies and material for larger lots increasing efficiency by 30%. • Maintain efficient shop load by scheduling for the constraint of 32 presses, providing department load hours report weekly identifying future manpower requirements. • Review of all jobs upon receipt of new orders, prior to release to production floor, verifying inventory, job hours set up, revisions, material supply, and resource availability, providing schedule of work for all departments. • The above improved on-time delivery from 62% to 94.7% at three times the volume. Planner / Scheduler of Oil Rig Top Drives,(new TDX product lines). This included drive motors, pipe handlers and dolly’s (framework) to articulate and adapt the assembly to customer towers. Each motor was 1340 HP with 8800 FT LBS of torque. Motor Assembly ship weight is 65 ton. BOM items well into the thousands. This is MTO product, with a QRM (quick response Manufacturing) environment. Understandably there was a heavy engineering interaction with generation of ECN’s. Long lead-time items in excess of 9 mo.’s, controlled with SPEC orders master planned. • MRP control of: BOM configuration per ECN revisions, Material, lead-times. Work center assignment, job scheduling and priority level. • Implemented adjustment of Customer due date by advancing date to drive material early this was based on production and Engineering performance. • Reviewed all ECN’s prior to release for accuracy.
