With genetic engineering and genomic analysis, I discovered an adaptive mutation that rewires the transcription regulation of a protein secretion system (T6SS) in Vibrio cholerae.Using experimental evolution as a platform, we evolved E. coli to become resistant to T6SS-mediated killing. With whole genome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis, I identified mutations in genes that lead to T6 resistance.Awarded with Georgia Tech COVID-19 Disruption GRA Funds (2022)
