Negotiate and prepare contracts, including for R&D and regulatory research, toll manufacturing, non-disclosure and confidentiality, commercial disputes resolution, and sale or acquisition of business product lines. Advise clients on advocacy to government agencies concerning human health and safety risk assessments to secure or maintain product approvals and use authorizations including agricultural production and food safety matters. Represent clients in complex commercial, environmental, and regulatory litigation. Representative matters include: Successfully litigated arbitration claims to achieve client strategic objectives and significant financial recoveries, including first chair arbitration experience. Coordinated multi-state toxic tort product liability personal injury defenses, including managing numerous local counsel and lead role in securing summary judgment in multiple cases arguing federal pre- emption defenses and exclusion of unreliable scientific expert opinion evidence. Challenges to government action under APA and FOIA. Defended environmental enforcement actions. Advocated for clients extensively in ADR settings, including arbitration and mediation. Show less
