During he nearly four years that I worked with Michael Morris he always impressed me with his creativity and branding skills. But more than that, he was a genius at pulling creative folks together to get the job done. He can lead a branding brainstorming session for a handful in one room, or a corporate meeting of 500 spread out across multiple time zones. In either case, he makes sure everyone is heard and that important ideas don't get lost. Michael is known for his integrity and high ideals. He inspires everyone around him to also bring their best self and do their best work.

I've worked with Michael over the past 8 years and have seen him grow from a wonderful graphic designer to an incredible brand manager. Michael is extremely talented at coming up with campaigns that are impactful, on-brand and create value for the product and company. As a leader, Michael has guided our team through so many challenges (including an unexpected acquisition) with utter professionalism and genuine sincerity. I know I'm better at what I do because of his guidance and leadership.

Mixing Creative Direction with Project Management and Training, I guide clients through a self-developed 10-week program in which — together — we launch an engaging Learning Management System and grow their influence within their channel. My biggest contributions so far: • Speeding time-to-value for over 50 clients — including brands such as Honeywell, Stanley Black & Decker, and Apex Tool Group (Crescent / Jobox) — through design and consultation on their LMS universities. • Modeling effective front line problem-solving for the Customer Success Team in tailoring solutions to customer workflows, triaging issues, and capitalizing on opportunities to grow the account. • Daily communication with my own roster of 15 high-touch clients to deepen their use of the LMS tools, mitigate concerns around platform reliability, and create connections between suppliers and distributors. I capitalized on Government’s inherently strong personal networks by creating spaces where prospects could interact with existing customers to generate new business through reception events, webinars, digital success stories, and shareable marketing content.Key Contributions• Doubled community adoption rates by launching a Deployment Marketing Kit to help every agency, regardless of size or access to marketing resources, effectively promote their new solutions through a step-by-step marketing plan and components for multi-channel distribution – brochure, poster, digital display slide, social media content, and press release.• Codified tribal knowledge and clarified product direction by integrating product UI visuals into each user story, showcasing our products’ ease of use through walkthrough videos, explaining pricing strategies through process diagrams, and effectively charting product growth via wiki-based product feature matrix. Managing the end-to-end process for GovTech product development has provided me with unique strategies for solving the challenges of public administration and made me a better marketer. Working closely with Utility and Building clients, I crafted intuitive experiences across SMS, web, and voice channels to help them increase on-time bill payments from citizens, reduce workload via automated service scheduling, and share cloud-based usage and payment reports throughout the enterprise.Key Contributions• Developed and implemented a two-year product roadmap to build new revenue streams through SelecTXT SMS and RelayWeb automated payment tools and to eliminate costly maintenance on antiquated solutions by migrating 60+ customers to the Relay platform.• Orchestrated the leap from single-department to enterprise opportunities by overhauling the Relay Portal cloud reporting and admin tool, giving customer stakeholders full control to build the team structures, approval workflows, and editing permissions that will speed services to their citizens. I led a remote team focused on digital marketing initiatives including e-commerce, organic and paid search, website redesigns, and marketing automation. Responding quickly to Ergotron’s surprise acquisition of Anthro, my expertise in change management helped me effectively merge the two brands while steering the entire organization through new workflows and objectives. As a member of the Leadership Team for the Oregon facility, I served as liaison with global sales and marketing teams to streamline product marketing communications and advocate for new revenue streams via custom manufacturing projects. Industries Served: Office Ergonomics and EdTech across North America, Europe, and Asia.Key Contributions• Boosted ad click-through rates and landing page conversions for WorkFit standing desks, crafting new messaging and a fresh photography direction to yield a matrix of 40+ Google Display Ad combinations. Repurposed the content for top performers into organic campaigns as well as paid ads across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. • Established an e-commerce template for web and reseller teams by overhauling Amazon content with new sales-ready messaging, technical illustrations, location photography, and unboxing / in-use videos. Collaborating with our distribution partner, I refined the product information matrix in order to cross-promote variations based on color and footprint, speed product comparisons, and increase click-throughs to authorized resellers. I capped this project with the launch of a branded Marketplace storefront that unified Ergotron’s standing desks and monitor arms for a more controlled buyer journey. • Embodied the voice of the Creative Team as I led global training webinars on e-commerce functionality, annual meeting breakout sessions on new marketing initiatives, team brainstorming for messaging and strategy, and direction to external agencies in the responsive re-design of wellness advocacy site JustStand.org. • Creative Director (Anthro Technology Furniture)
      • 2011 - 2015

In the 8 years leading to Anthro’s acquisition by Ergotron, I transformed Anthro’s brand from simply the maker of the AnthroCart desk into a trusted solutions provider for every technology. My greatest impact was in fostering a culture of design thinking, close collaboration, and mutual accountability across Executive, Sales, Product Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams which led to innovative product directions, lucrative new revenue streams, and greater Marketing influence throughout the company.Key Contributions• Fueled multi-million dollar revenue growth through campaigns promoting Anthro’s custom design and manufacturing services. While shadowing our Design and Manufacturing teams, I crafted unique messaging and photography for collateral, landing pages, presentations, and proposals which positioned Anthro as a trusted guide for building customer success through tailor-made solutions. This campaign secured high profile, white label partnerships that included Surface branded charging carts and locked mounts for Microsoft, powered open office environments for Herman Miller, and ticketing solutions at each United Airlines gate across North America.• Established thought leadership in workplace wellness by maintaining a steady rhythm of new content including videos, infographics, social posts, and influencer success stories. • Senior Art Director (Anthro Technology Furniture)
      • 2007 - 2011

My first project with Anthro was wrangling over 800 product SKUs into a comprehensive buyer's guide to help customers make educated purchasing decisions and empower internal teams with a full understanding of Anthro's product ecosystem. The success of this project opened the door for me to influence every aspect of Anthro's business for the next 8 years, from product marketing and UI design to partner relations and new business development.Key Contributions• Cultivated an agency mindset within the Marketing Team, coaching each member to expand their skill set, respond proactively to creative opportunities, and exercise ownership of the Anthro brand. I led us through the process of expanding our digital marketing capabilities into buyer journey mapping, messaging strategy, video production, location photography, and content creation.• Engineered a more efficient sales process by focusing Anthro’s expansive product portfolio into distinct product collections complete with their own unique marketing strategy, messaging, and visual branding. Each omni-channel campaign nurtured leads through multiple stages of the buyer journey: lead-generating display ads, landing pages, shareable social content, digital sales collateral personalized for each rep, and branded tradeshow experiences. I led the creative production of integrated campaigns across direct mail, print ad, email, DRTV, and web channels. As the balance of our projects shifted from print to digital, I became adept at wireframing and storyboarding for videos and animation, HTML and CSS coding, writing for the web, landing page variable testing, and campaign reporting. The turbulent agency environment helped cultivate my soft skills in Change Management to navigate uncertainty with confidence, pivot into new projects at any stage in the project cycle, and interface with clients as the creative lead. My projects at this small agency were large-scale catalogs, direct mail, packaging, and point of purchase. But the design and marketing lessons I learned run so much deeper for leading customers through the decision making process, positioning products for quick compare and contrast, and always directing the customer closer to purchase. In return, I helped expand the agency’s service offering by evangelizing clients to the power of digital marketing and leading brands through their first web and email marketing experiences. Industries Served: Athletic Wear and Work Apparel vertical markets with a client roster that included Universal Cheerleading Association, Varsity Spirit Corporation, Landau Uniforms, and Crews Eyewear.
