Ogborn Mihm LLP is a firm of experienced trial lawyers with offices in Denver, Los Angeles, and Souix Falls, South Dakota. We focus on plaintiff-side litigation in the following areas: i) commercial and business litigation, ii) legal malpractice, iii) construction defect, iv) insurance bad faith, v) mass tort, vi) personal injury, products liability and wrongful death litigation, and vii) whistleblower, Federal False Claim Act, and retaliation litigation. Increasingly, we represent clients in major inheritance litigation and in contingent fee business litigation. We are one of the few law firms in the United States to focus on representing plaintiffs in legal malpractice lawsuits against attorneys and major business law firms. Our legal malpractice clients tend to be companies and business people. We routinely work with in-house or outside counsel to evaluate legal malpractice claims. Our commercial and business tort cases often involve contract disputes, corporate control disputes among owners of closely-held companies, oil and gas litigation, real estate litigation, non-compete agreements, or issues of breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing, theft of intellectual property, fraud, equity stripping, and other misdeeds. We also have significant personal injury and products liability practice. For example, in 2018 we obtained a $100 million settlement for a client arising out of a products liability claim against a helicopter manufacturer. Our trial lawyers represent clients in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. We are a member of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, a highly-selective alliance of more than 190 top-rated, independent law firms located in more than 135 cities around the world. While we represent many clients on a traditional hourly fee basis, we also represent a significant number of our business and individual clients on a contingent fee basis and on hybrid or other alternative fee arrangements.

At approximately 1,300 members, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) is the principal organization for plaintiff trial attorneys in Colorado and a major force in advocating for legislation supporting consumers and the civil rights of Colorado citizens. I served as president of CTLA from August 2014 until August 2015. My partners, Mike Ogborn (2013-2014) and Murray Ogborn (2005-2006) are also past presidents of CTLA. My partner Thomas Neville is currently President-Elect of CTLA, and will become president later in 2022. My partner Jason Wesoky is Treasurer of CTLA, and will become president in 3 years. We are the only law firm in Colorado to have three past presidents of CTLA.
