After seven months with FCA was requested to transfer and relocate to the Belvidere Assembly Plant (5 Mil. sq. ft.) to provide strong leadership support for the Industrial Engineering Department comprising eleven unionized industrial engineers. The Department supported the stamping, body in white, paint and assembly centers for production of the daily output of 1390 Dodge Dart, Jeep Compass and Patriot models on a single assembly line. In addition, oversaw program and launch support for the new transfer 2018/2019 Jeep Cherokee program. A total of 310 productivity redeployments had been achieved over a two-year period, along with effective manpower control while rebuilding internal union relationships. Initially hired at the Sterling Stamping Plant supporting the world’s largest stamping plant (2.7 Mil. sq. ft.) with 32 Press lines and 44 Weld Sub-Assembly lines by leading a five-person engineering department. Focused the department on establishing common practices, kaizen development, data analysis for Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) projects and becoming certified in and integrating “Workplace Organization” autonomous activities with heavy emphasis on production support to achieve cost savings.
