As GM, I have been responsible for all business operations of one of Skagit County’s most popular pubs. I have led all hiring, staff development, scheduling and payroll processes for all employees, both front- and back-of-the-house. I have always facilitated strict adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as my own standards for exemplary customer satisfaction. Additionally, I am superbly adept at establishing and maintaining team-supported systems, across all aspects of restaurant operations. Here, from among the most talented and highly regarded Co-op leadership in our region, I learned how to measure and model great customer service. We aimed to thrill our customers and scare our competition, and I pushed myself to that call, day in and day out. Providing customer service at the Co-op is where I found my occupational “home.” It’s where my Work got its capital ‘W.’ My additional duties included acting as team lead, supporting 7+ registers and 8-10 cashiers in a given shift, where sales would often total at region-leading highs. As Store Supervisor, I remedied all scheduling issues and assured a structured rotation of required breaks among cashiers, all while also monitoring overall employee activity and resolving day-to-day problems storewide. I’m exceptionally skilled and expedient at cash handling and lane cash balancing. I led training on POS system operation and greatly grew my skills to quickly troubleshoot and solution tech issues. I also trained over a decade’s-worth of new cashiers, and continue to call many of them friends and chosen family. I know what it means to be a part of the C o-op Difference, and it’s something I’ll carry with me always. Show less
