Director and FSO (Facility Security Officer) Program Manager - Engineering Delivery Manager, DHS – U.S. Coast Guard Key Program Manager on the U.S. Coast Guard's (USCG) Core Technology Services (CTS) contract. CTS is a five-year $107M contract with over 170 FTEs responsible for engineering and operations of the USCG's two primary data centers. We securely design, develop, and deploy all technical and managed services, including Network, Storage, Infrastructure, Platform, and Private Cloud services in a 24x7x365 environment across 5,000 pieces of hardware, 2,700+ servers, 4+PB Storage, and 150,000 users across 60 critical applications. • Performed in-depth Security self-assessments and improvements on 100% of IaaS, NaaS, and PaaS assets to ensure adherence to DISA's STIG and CCRI scorecard. Results: Passed Oct 2018 CCRI. • Increased annual contract revenue by 12% ($2.7M) to deliver enhanced Cyber Security services. • Instituted Project governance and rigor with industry best practices of ITIL, CMMI, and PMI. • Overseen 45 concurrent engineering projects to modernize the architecture for improved cloud automation services to run DevSecOps via a Managed Services contract. Among the courses I have taught include: IT 105 - IT Architecture Fundamentals - A core course for all Minor in IT students. Introduces students to fundamental hardware and software concepts of information technology (IT) to understand the basics of modern computing environments. Students acquire a comprehensive understanding of a computer system's essential components, component interdependence, and binary functions, factoring in performance, data communication models, telecommunication basics, and information security. Recent trends and advancements in mobile computing, telecommunications, and IT infrastructures are discussed. IT 335 - Web Development for Content Mgmt. Society is dynamically changing from an information society to a knowledge society. This course provides both a survey of the currently most used content management systems but also in-depth hands-on experience with one of the most used environments (e.g. Joomla, Sharepoint). The course provides the basics related to content management and knowledge management on the web, and guides you in creating a personal web development project in an area of interest for you covering mostly the design and content authoring but also installation and maintenance aspects. IT 300 - Modern Telecommunications core BS-IT course and an option course for Minor in IT. As defined, Telecommunications is the transfer of information from a transmitter or sender to a receiver across a distance. It truly touches all facets of IT. As such, we look at both the underpinnings of the discipline and the latest application. It gives a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals and the future of the telecommunications and related technologies, with concepts on Wireless & Mobile Communications, Satellites and Data Networks.
