I first met Michael back in 1982 shortly after he started working at Hapag-Lloyd (America) Inc Michael was hired on as a senior systems programmer and within two years he was promoted to the position of manager systems programming. Michael is one of the most knowledgeable well rounded people that I have had the privilege of working with and knowing as a friend. Unfortunately our working relationship not our friendship came to an end almost twelve years later when he moved on to another company within the ocean transportation industry. Michael’s steady leadership of his team made Hapag-Lloyd systems programming team a world class organization, so much that our corporate office in Hamburg would reach out to Michael’s team to lead key enterprise initiatives during his tenure. I highly recommend Michael without any reservations.

Mike and I go way back to 1980. We knew each other from E.F. Hutton although we really did not work together. Our paths would cross again 10 years later when I walked into his office for an interview for a vacant Systems Progamming position he needed to fill. I'm not sure how much convincing I needed to do to get hired, as he essentially hired me on the spot if I remember correctly. He knew what he was doing. I flourished working under Mike. He showed great confidence in me and all of his staff. I learned so much in the 3 years that I worked for him, so much so that he recommended me to replace him when he left Hapag-Lloyd. That was one recommendation I will never forget. Mike was a great manager and a great friend. Boy I sure do miss those days!
