I've worked as a peer of and as a manager of Michael Martin for the last 20 years. Michael has exceptional PLSQL analysis, debug and development knowledge. Michael was a subject matter expert of PLSQL and batch work for our team. He delivered many projects of various scope over the years equating to hundreds of thousands of lines of highly detailed, expertly commented, and concise code. He mentored junior developers and acted as our batch solutions consultant. He is able to understand extremely complex data problems and communicate solutions that work. He has expert skills in SQL, PLSQL, Shell scripting, AutoSys, Unix, Linux, Toad, SQLDeveloper, table design theory and Oracle. Michael is an excellent developer and team player.

Mike Martin is a strong developer and very detail oriented. He strives to have new code as well as any code changes be error free but will do whatever is necessary to make corrections if needed. He stays on task but is flexible with work priorities if changes are made by business partners or management. Mike would be an asset to any organization.

PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL, Korn shell, and XML Entire ETL and other back-end processes for web access and global delivery data feeds for the Diners Club International (DCI) Data Warehouse systems, aggregating card spending data for commercial customers from worldwide Diners Club franchises  Lead developer and subject matter expert (SME) for above systems.  The primary resource for everything having to do with the databases and back-end processes.  Business required my input and OK before going ahead with new initiatives.  Enabled customer retention by adding XML data feeds to a suite of plain text feeds, learning XML and Oracle XML queries.  Implemented very complex server migrations from Unix to Linux with completely different configurations. The project was full of uncharted waters with new information routinely surfacing. Utilized my collaboration skills to obtain information from numerous people on various teams.  Enabled real-time visibility for DCI franchise data submissions by separating file receipt tracking from the ETL processes.  Enabled dynamic service level agreement (SLA) customization for franchise follow-up.  Enabled queries to run 50 times faster by designing, creating, and populating a star schema POC database that could replace a third normal form database.  Preserved security standards to prevent criminal intrusions and made the necessary code changes. Participated in audits for data security.  Enhanced flexibility, speed, responsiveness, and accuracy by instituting software and database design improvements.  Maintained data availability by analyzing causes of production failures and restoring production. PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL, Korn shell, and Excel VBA ETL and back-end portions of a complex combined star schema Data Warehouse, Data Mart, and OLTP system, aggregating accounting and funding data from multiple U.S. Air Force systems into a double-entry accounting system  Enhancements, maintenance, and bug fixes.  Used Oracle Warehouse Builder for data transformations.  Created VBA macros in Excel for customers who needed to load the data into Excel spreadsheets, learning Excel VBA.  Took over change management for a coworker on medical leave, learning PVCS. PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL, and Korn shell ETL and back-end portions of the same Data Warehouse system for DCI that I worked on at Discover  Greatly increased DCI data timeliness, changing international franchise data submissions from sporadic to daily by designing, coding, and implementing a comprehensive addition to the ETL system, tracking submissions, and ensuring the reception of correct data on time and in the proper order.  Further increased DCI data timeliness by integrating ETL file submission tracking into a system to track errors in data submissions, immediately notifying submitters of errors and lateness in their submissions.  Three simultaneous subprojects in a massive project to migrate the Diners Club U.S. card management mainframe systems, supporting conversion to MasterCard acceptance and account numbers: reworked the outgoing data feed processes; created conversion data for a user application; wrote a procedure to transmit on-line credit card applications.
