I partner with leadership members of the University to establish and promote a strong and positive institutional culture. I plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the University’s human resource function and performance. I assess the competitiveness of all human resources programs and practices against the relevant and comparable institutions, companies, and industries. Also maintain liaisons with department heads on personnel related matters, including monitoring all policies and procedures in order to insure compliance with University, federal and state employment regulations. Provide consulting services to University departments, units and employees in areas such as professional development, coaching and mediation. Conduct employee relations investigations. Coordinate and implement University wide performance evaluation program. Provide strategic leadership over employee benefit programs, including worker’s compensation, insurance and retirement programs. Maintain staff handbooks. Apply the tools of technology to make the Human Resources function more efficient and effective at USciences. First seat for negotiations with Union, in addition handle union grievances.
