It is within my nature to study processes and spot opportunity’s where these can be simplified or improved upon and it was using this part of my skill set which gave me the idea and motivation to create a business case to detail where the business needed to improve around legal compliance and how they needed to it, this business case subsequently reached the CEO and was approved which led to the inception of my current role.I am responsible for management of the compliance team and organising, managing and monitoring 15,000 individual compliance visits annually across the estate, myself and my team will then feed the results back to the business with the recommendations to as what the next steps are. Another reason and subsequent duty of my current role is to bring a renewed sense of professionalism and collaboration between other key departments which has been very well received.Key Achievements: -• I was awarded as a values superstar by the business being nominated by my customers in the business for being trusted and doing my best to deliver what is required.• Successfully prepared, presented and landed the investment required to give the largest compliance budget seen in many years to ensure the businesses legal compliance. Having gained promotion, I was responsible for the management of the regional project managers of which there is four, ensuring they are fulfilling their duties safely, on budget, on programme and in line with the businesses expectations. As a collective the capital expenditure of which I would have to monitor, assess and approve to the next level of authorisation was in excess of £30,000,000 annually.I worked closely with the head of development & construction in prioritising and forecasting the capital spend to present to the executive committee.Key Achievements: -• Nominated and successfully achieved a place on the prestigious leading for success level 5 apprenticeship programme • Received positive feedback from my team on how I have approached being their line manager • Being selected onto the acquisition team carrying out due diligence on a £18,500,000 business acquisition which included the purchase of a freehold hold property and two short term leases, I then managed the £1,650,000 construction project to separate the business from their previous owners. As part of the property department I am responsible for all construction and fit-out projects across my region, also when escalated to myself maintenance issues come under my demise.My projects cover a vast range of construction activities from re-roofing of our branches to new surfacing and complete fit out of the branches, they can value from £5,000 up to £2,000,000 I can have up to 15 projects live at any time. From inception up to and after handover I control all aspects of the project from writing the specification and creating the budget to placing orders with and managing the sub-contractors the programme of works along with keeping the stakeholders up to date with the projects progress.Key Achievements: -• Created and successfully implemented “Working with Saint-Gobain Building Distribution” guide, this is a 100-page specification document which allows sub-contractors, stake holders and new comers the visibility of the entire process of a project.• Managed from inception through to completion the largest trade park in Saint Gobain UK and the Jewson “Go” concept store in Charlton.• Working with the Saint Gobain purchasing and auditing teams I created and implemented the nationwide tender of construction projects across the estate saving the business nearly 10 % which over the property departments average yearly project spend equates to £3,356,000 on its previously agreed rates, this saving was reported and recorded at the group’s headquarters in Paris.• Successfully implemented and completed multiple projects in a 12 months’ period to the value of £12,350,000 on time and in budget.
