iKnowa is a Brisbane based start up looking to improve dating culture by helping people get that all important real, world date. The free app is a one stop directory for the all the best restaurants, cafes and bars highlighting everything from cuisine, cravings, dietary requirements and atmosphere, so while you are chatting away on your favourite dating app, you can have the confidence to say "iKnowa Place". iKnowa is an all rounder as it can be used on the daily to help find your favourite coffee roaster in an unknown area along with only showing you what is open to limit wasting any time. Since launching in South East Queensland late 2021, iKnowa has maintained a steady uptake of users and has recently expanded onto Sydney and surrounded suburbs. Seeing iKnowa as an opportunity to shape the dating world my children would grow up in was natural fit for me to want to be a part of the change.

Joining as a Police Recruit in 2009, I've served in General Duties for the entirety of my career. General Duties is the term for first response policing which is the most dangerous role in the service as every situation contains unknown threats. I have served the public in a variety of police divisions surrounding Brisbane's CBD. My current rank is Senior Constable, and my day-to-day roles include: • Leading and inspiring my team and colleagues • Maintaining a strong personal drive to remain proactive and ensuring community safety • Remaining highly adaptable to ever-changing situations of high and low stress • Having a vast knowledge of legislation and operating procedures • Displaying empathy towards societies most vulnerable people • Looking at situations objectively without bias and deciding the most fair and just outcomes. • Managing internal conflict and developing coping strategies My most recent role involves leading and inspiring Police Recruits as they start their Policing career. The pandemic brought upon many challenges including delivering an entirely face-to-face curriculum to an online distance based environment. I've embraced this challenge, seeing further opportunities for innovation and upskilling along the way.
