I began my work at SECO/ SDI after I closed my Hardware store in a declining dangerous neighborhood. I was hired as a community organizer and soon promoted to the Director of Community Organizing at SECO. I moved to our development arm SDI and ran the 'Main Street' project. This program is thru the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Grant writing, neighborhood and business development projects commanded my attention.
