I got to know Mike a few years ago when I joined Alternative Futures Group as a trustee. I've valued his insight, judgement, and his advice and support to me as I moved from executive to a non-executive role. He always looks at issues in the round, to understand and balance the different perspectives - of the organisation, of our staff as well as the people who use AFG's services. It has been great to work as a trustee with Mike, and to see how he promotes and applies the values that AFG has adopted to the Board's work. This has at times resulted in him challenging the Board on issues he felt strongly about., but always respectful of other views. That is never an easy thing to do - for me, this has been the best piece of learning, and has set a good example to follow.

Mike was a fantastic Trustee for Alternative Futures Group for many years... I had the pleasure of working with Mike for over 4 years and he provided both me and the Executive Team with great support, guidance and challenge during those times... A very approachable person with excellent values and ethics... I would recommend Mike for any organisations looking for an experienced Board level Trustee/NED...
