  Here I became competent at conforming and pregrading, and expanded my knowledge further with regards to colour space, decks, tapes, delivery specs and baselight. Most days would be spent conforming and pregrading a timeline within a fast paced high pressure environment. This would involve correctly handling and rendering speed effects and stills, removing any luts or colour adapters as well as lifting other effects that were likely to be refined in the Online session. I gained basic knowledge of the grading software baselight and learnt how to correctly ingest a finished pregraded timeline as well as exporting final graded pictures. Other tasks included QC’ing final TX Masters, some to tape live such as the weekly Gogglebox TX, and running PSE / Harding checks when necessary.

• Offline Edit Assistant

  Promoted to join one of the Offline MCR’s and began with tapelessly ingesting footage. I learnt a great deal about camera formats, codecs and folder structures, as well as how Avid stores media. Soon gained confidence and moved onto exporting and uploading viewing exports for clients and performing more timeline based tasks, such as Archive or Music EDL’s and preparing sequences for conform and tracklay. A year after I joined the team at Windmill Street, ENVY centralised all digitising. I remained at Windmill street with one other of our previously 6 strong team and held a more client facing role assisting with syncing and grouping and general troubleshooting of our 25 edit suites.
