During my time at Simpsons I have been exposed to a variety of different sectors, have dealt with multiple building materials and a range of project sizes. I have been Project Engineer on both small domestic extensions and alterations to large, multi-million pound hotel refurbishment projects in central London, many of which run concurrently with one another. I have also undertaken temporary works design and carried out structural surveys and appraisals of existing buildings. Thanks to the work environment at Simpsons, I have been able to develop a broad set of skills in varying industries, all across the industry. This experience allows me to offer a thorough and responsive service for structural engineering services.

I have produced technical drawings using AutoCAD and been involved in using Revit models. To supplement my design work, I have used ROBOT, Fastrak, Tedds and SCALE analysis programmes as well as product specific programmes such as HILTI PROFIS Anchor, TATA Comflor and Fischer Anchor software effectively.

I designed a range of structural steelwork platforms and pipe support structures. I designed not only structural steelwork, but also reinforced concrete bunds designed to contain potentially volatile liquids and foundation design for 20m+ tall structures.I worked on a range of projects; from small platforms to allow access to valves to pipe supports for a 32” diameter gas pipe responsible for supplying 20% of the UK’s gas supply. Not only did I carry out structural calculations for projects, but I also created material specifications and scope of works for a range of projects.
