I had the pleasure of working with Michael Batas for two years with Student Works Painting. In that time I got to see Michael learn how to market, estimate jobs, recruit painters and produce work, all while juggling his full time university schedule in the Spring months. Michael is someone who asks questions when he doesn't know how to do something perfectly, he strives to do the best job that he can do. I loved working with him for these reasons. Whenever there was a problem with a client he fixed it right away, in his second year of running his business there were no problems because he ran his business so smoothly. As a person Michael is loyal, honest, kind, dedicated to his family and a fierce friend. I found Michael while sourcing on Linkedin during a year where Covid was running wild. I am so thankful I was able to meet him and get to know him and I can't wait to see what he does in his business in 2023 and the rest of his career!

I have had the opportunity to work alongside Michael for the past 2 years at Student Works Painting, in Calgary AB. Over this time, I have seen Michael put in exuberant levels of effort in the task of working to learn his business, his customers, and always improve his working knowledge to better those he works with and for. This business is not an easy one, but Michael has persevered through many tough times, and I have been excited to see the growth he has been able to form in the operator role with his business. I am looking forward to see the success he is able to see not only in his business, but over the coming years as an individual. On a personal note, I would say Michael is one of the best people I know as he cares so much for those around him, and actively puts in the effort to make time for those he cares for - which I see as an equally important skill to those in the workplace. His soft skills are what make him an excellent person, and addition to any team / business.
